Building Reliable Revenue Streams
for Open Source Software Companies
Jeff Scroggin has worked successfully with open
source companies to develop the marketing and sales programs that build both
their customer base and revenues for commercial (fee-based) products and
services.
Jeff collaborates closely with sales and marketing organizations
to:
- Build
successful lead generation programs for commercial (revenue-generating)
opportunities within and outside the existing user community,
- Cost-effectively identify and convert the most
promising commercial leads into qualified opportunities in the sales
pipeline,
- Improve
the close rate, and reduce the drop out rate, for opportunities in the
sales pipeline, and
- Reduce time-to-close for qualified leads once they
enter the sales pipeline.
For a development tools provider in the Java
market, Jeff defined and implemented a successful marketing strategy
aligned with the open source Eclipse communitiy. His efforts contributed
to a 30% increase in web traffic and sales lead activity for his client.
As part of his work in the open source market, Jeff is developing a
series of articles on building a profitable open source business,
specifically focused on how to optimize sales and marketing
strategies. Please revisit this page in the future as Jeff adds to this
collection of articles:
